For whatever reason, the summertime always makes me in the mood for some good old fashioned, Southern cooking. Maybe it’s the summer heat, spending time outdoors, or what, but I always find myself with a hankering for a taste of the South. Fortunately for me, Garden and Gun has provided some excellent solutions to these cravings, with their feature story on cast iron recipes in the new August/September issue. Food styled by Cynthia Groseclose and photographed by Peter Frank Edwards, each recipe requires a cast iron skillet and yields some tasty results. I will be cooking up some bacon jam immediately! Yum!
